Up The Elephant And Round The Castle - Series 2 - Ep7

Jim Davidson stars in this successful TV comedy that ran for three series in the ‘80s. Davidson plays would-be Casanova Jim London, who inherits his ‘castle’ in Railway Terrace from his Aunt Minnie. A typical episode would begin with Jim appearing outside his front door in dressing gown and socks, before recounting the latest story from his life of on the dole, drinking at his local and chasing young women. This sitcom was written as a star vehicle for Davidson’s brash style of comedy and even spawned a spin-off series, Home James. Up the Elephant and Round the Castle also starred Sue Nicholls who went on to play Audrey in Coronation Street. She plays Wanda Nicholls who has her eye on Jim but he is not so keen, especially as her husband is in maximum security at Parkhurst.
