Tommy Cooper - Episode 6

Another chance to see the legendary comic magician Tommy Cooper in his hilarious 1978 show. In episode 6 Tommy is joined by his usual support – singer Lynsey De Paul provides another diverting musical moment, while Diddy David Hamilton refuses to give up on the lost cause of getting a decent interview out of Tommy, despite going through the entire series without enjoying any success. You’ve got to admire his optimism. For this episode’s sketch Tommy is once again joined by classy acting chap Ian Hendry, who clearly cares nothing for his thesp’s reputation. Their sketch together is just one highlight of a show that never fails to entertain, and offers conclusive proof, as if it were needed, that Tommy Cooper was one of the great comic minds of the era.
