Series four was aired in 1974. In 2004 it was listed at number 67 in the 100 greatest-ever British sitcoms. Bless This House was unusual in that its director/producer William G Stewart (presenter of Channel 4 tea time quiz show Fifteen To One) commissioned scripts from a variety of authors, including Vince Powell, Harry Driver and Carla Lane.
