A successful travelling stationery salesman by trade, Sid Abbott thinks of himself as head of his household. His family, however, have other ideas. His wife Jean tries her best, but she's finding it tough to cope with a hippy son whose dress sense gives old-fashioned Sid plenty of reason to doubt his sexual preferences. Daughter Sally is no less of a worry as she embraces the principles of the free love generation rather too enthusiastically for Sid’s liking. Neighbours Trevor and Betty try to be supportive but bring their own problems. Bless This House was a massively popular '70s sitcom starring Diana Coupland and Carry On legend Sid James.
