Saiyuki – Episode 1

This hugely popular anime series was created by Kazuya Minekura and based on the famous Chinese novel Journey to the West. A long time ago, in the far west, there was a world called Paradise. This place was the origin of civilisation and faith, a place where humans and evil spirits co-existed in peaceful harmony. Until one day, without warning, a negative spiritual wave spread over the world, transforming all spirits and monsters into violent beasts that began attacking humans. Under orders from the Celestial Heavens, four reluctant heroes must travel to India to stop the resurrection of the dreaded Bull-Demon-King. As the violence between demons and humans escalates, it's up to the four misfits to save the world, but they are beset by assassins, bad weather, and their tragic personal pasts.
