The Science Of Sleep

Director Michel Gondry is best known for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but as both writer and director on The Science of Sleep he shows more of the tremendous creativity that illuminated his pop videos for The White Stripes, Kylie and Bjork. Gael Garcia Bernal stars as Stephane, a quiet, introspective loner who attempts to woo beautiful party girl Zoe (Emma de Caunes) with his childlike imagination. Since Stephane has always blurred the boundaries between waking and dreaming, that’s what the film does too, delivering numerous incredible, if a little surreal, moments. This arty film charmed the socks off audiences at the Sundance Film Festival and you’ll love it too. (French with English Subs)
