The Holiday

When Iris (Kate Winslet) and Amanda (Cameron Diaz) meet on the internet, it’s to moan about how tired they are of lousy boyfriends and how they both need a holiday. Escaping their pesky men, played by Rufus Sewell and Ed Burns, the girls decide to house swap for the Christmas holidays, with London journalist Iris jetting to Los Angeles and Amanda being bowled over by Iris’ quaint Cotswold cottage. In no time at all, Iris’s brother Graham (Jude Law) is wining and dining Amanda while Iris is getting cosy with Miles (Jack Black), a good-natured musician. The director of chick-flick hits Something's Gotta Give and What Women Want packs two whole romances and two fish-out-of-water story lines in single warm-hearted movies, making this a sure-fire hit for a romantic night in.
