Troy

Director Wolfgang Petersen (Poseidon, The Perfect Storm) delivers an action-packed adaptation of Homer’s epic, chronicling the Greek assault on Troy. Trojan prince Paris (Orlando Bloom) persuades Helen, Queen of Sparta (Diane Kruger) to leave her husband and return to Troy with him. Cuckolded husband Menelaus (Brendan Gleeson) enlists the help of his brother Agamemnon (Brian Cox) who mobilises 1,000 ships and 50,000 Greek warriors in an attempt to get Helen back and seize power from the previously undefeated Trojans. The Greek forces are emboldened by the help of legendary warrior Achilles (Brad Pitt) but the Trojan prince Hector (Eric Bana) proves to be a formidable barrier to their success. Troy’s exhilarating action scenes and stellar cast give a Hollywood sheen to this classic tale of betrayal and the pursuit of power.
