Join this bunch of whacky, misfit beasts as they live unconventional lives on the African Freeborn Wildlife Preserve. Based on a popular comic strip, this bizarre animated series follows the antics of Lyle, a vegetarian pizza-eating lion; Dodo, the last of the legendary flightless birds; Eugene, a childish elephant; Gnu, the hopeless leader of the herd and Lana, Lyle’s love interest and the only sensible one of the bunch. In the first adventure, Lyle uncovers the skeleton of a dinosaur and attempts to impress Lana with his perfectly-preserved find. Elsewhere the rest of the animals are trying to reassemble what they think might be Dodo’s ancestor. In the second story, Wilderness Training, Gnu volunteers to teach the most inept, disorganised gang of trainee scouts in the herd. Gnu’s task is hard enough, without new recruit Eugene blundering in.
